A Note from the Doctor about HCG

As an Italian-raised child, food has been the center of every family activity I have ever had the pleasurechiropractor ramsey HCG Diet of participating in.   I was never a kid that would say “no” to anything when it involved food.  I was eating all sorts of foods, which would be considered “strange” by definition to any other kid my age.  It was not long at all before the statement, “You need to eat!” turned into “You need to slow down your eating.” Confusing, right? Try being me…

Time passed and I became a teenager, much curvier than most of my friends, and before I knew it, I was an adult in my twenties—again, much curvier than most of my chiropractor ramsey HCG Dietfriends.  The strange thing about it all was that I never thought I ate that much.  I would look at my brother, sisters and even my parents who would eat whatever they wanted and never looked anything more than thin and in shape. But there I was watching them eat, and I was gaining weight. Needless to say, it was not very encouraging. I know it is all how you look at yourself, and most would say that I wasn’t heavy, but I know I was and had the rear-end to prove it! So food and I started our love-hate relationship, a relationship to last a lifetime.

From the time I was 15 years old on, I did nothing but obsess about my weight. My very first prom I did chiropractor ramsey HCG Dietnot eat the entire day before on the advice of a loved one who had my best interests at heart; but no matter how you look at it, when someone tells you not to eat all day so you look better in the dress, it stings! From then on, I would start to freak out every time I had an important event or vacation coming up and starve myself, only to lose a few pounds and then go right back to where I was because I would stuff myself after. My weight would go up and down over and over again.  Talk about yo-yo! One time, in my early thirties, I got back down to my high school weight, for about a day…124 pounds!  Woohoo! Then again, I thought I was fat in high school, so what did that prove?  Somehow, after I hit that number, I proceeded to gain over thirty pounds in the next year…WHAT?!?!?  Ugh!

To be completely honest with you, this is the first time I’m actually admitting this to anyone.  Most of my close friends would tell you that I joke about my weight all the time, call myself fat, all that other stuff, but very flippantly. I don’t think they know that my weight has consumed most of my thoughts through my entire life. Does that suck or what?

I have lived with this internal turmoil over food for as long as I can remember and I was ready to make a change.

chiropractor ramsey HCG DietIn comes hCG. A few of my colleagues had told me about this diet, but I blew it off because it seemed to be too much of a challenge for me.  Eating 500 calories a day – are you kidding me?  To add to my justifications, I had literally tried every diet known to man, including one where the food was delivered to my home at a LARGE cost. So what could possibly be different about this diet?

Then it happened. I went to a seminar and met up with a very close friend and colleague of mine who I hadn’t seen in a while and almost passed out when I saw him. He had lost upwards of 50 pounds, and was maintaining it with no problem!   He is known in our circle as “The Big Guy”—not because he was heavy, but he is just a large dude!  This woke my butt up and I began to research the diet. I figured, if a 6 foot something guy could lose 50 pounds on this diet by maintaining a 500 calorie per week diet with some drops, I can too!

The research was very eye opening in regards to the gains people on the diet were reporting.  Not only were they losing weight, some chiropractor ramsey HCG Dietwere getting off medications that they were on for years, including those with Type II diabetes.  People with glucose intolerance, which is a precursor to diabetes, finally got that under control.  I found that cardiologists love this diet because it is majorly heart healthy. I even read that women who do this diet have a decreased chance of developing breast cancer… WOW!!

Before I put this diet out to the public, I had to test it for myself.  I began the diet in late March of 2011.  The very first week I lost 7 pounds, and it wasn’t water like most would think.  Each week I’ve lost consistent weight, body inches and body fat.  I never felt starved, low on energy and NEVER felt like giving up! It has been fun to see that the effort I’ve been putting into it has been paying off, and quickly!  Right now I’m down 18.5 pounds and two dress sizes.  I don’t look gaunt or out of proportion and nothing but the bad fat has been coming off!

As I’m writing this, I’m on my last week of the diet, and here are some of the things I’ve learned:

1.       I can lose weight

2.       I can actually change my eating behavior-BIG TIME.

3.       I don’t need all of that extra crap I used to have in my diet

4.       I won’t die if I’m a bit hungry

5.       I’m in charge of my weight

6.       THIS WORKS!

The HCG Diet

A Brief History and Explanation of HCG

Human chorionic gonadotropin, more commonly referred to as HCG, is a naturally occurring hormone in pregnancy. The hormone is produced at especially high levels during the first few months of pregnancy, and is therefore often used as a primary indicator in pregnancy tests.

HCG occurs in great amounts in the early stages of pregnancy because that is when the pregnant women, especially in the time before pregnancy tests existed, is the least likely to notice that she is pregnant, and therefore less likely to know she should be eating more food to care for the coming child. Therefore HCG is produced because it uses the natural fat storage a women carries in her thighs, hips and midsection to obtain nutrients for the fetus or embryo, and suppresses the woman’s appetite so that she does not realize that she is using more energy than she is taking in which would otherwise trigger a starvation reaction.

The 1950’s were a time that saw a great increase in understanding of HCG’s properties, for when Dr. Simeons was studying the effects of HCG injections in aiding the onset and proper development of puberty in young boys with pituitary disorders he discovered that the boys were losing weight; the weight was being lost solely from fat deposits, while the lean muscle tissue was unaffected. Because of HCG’s function as an appetite suppressant, the boys were eating less, and because the hormone targets fat storage, the boys were just as energetic as ever while losing excess weight and keeping their muscle mass.

Dr. Simeons, armed with this knowledge, developed a protocol for weight loss using HCG injections and a low calorie diet, which could be prescribed by a doctor. The diet was praised by those who used it because it allowed them to remain full and energetic while losing weight.

The introduction of The Weight Loss Cure by Kevin Trudeau in 2007 began the popular use of homeopathic HCG. This method allows HCG to be sold without a prescription and thus many more people moved in on the craze.

Many people report great results when using HCG, losing up to 1 or 2 pounds a day. Depending on the length of the regiment, people have lost up to 45 pounds in one cycle, and many go back and complete the process again to lose over 100 pounds in total. It is no wonder, with such great results, why HCG is as popular as it is. Who wouldn’t want to lose weight without feeling the normal hunger pangs associated with dieting?

Since HhG targets adipose fat, the loose connective tissue, rather than structural fat, it allows those who use it to avoid looking gaunt by not losing the structural fat that exists, for instance, in the face. It is this targeting of specific types of fat, as well as the fact that it avoids burning muscle, that makes it seem as if your body is being sculpted as you lose weight. HCG therefore promotes a healthy lean look by targeting only the excess fat and not anything else.
